It's that time of year once again: the end. 2015 was a pretty incredible year! I made new friends, got an amazing job, turned 23, GOT MARRIED, moved to a new house, traveled to the west coast, AND learned how to cook more than one thing! And while today marks an end, it is also a beginning. A new year is a chance to start fresh and make improvements. After looking back on these past 365 days, I want to resolve to make some changes. 1. BLOG!
I can't tell you how many times I've started a blog. I can be diligent about it for a time, but eventually I get bored and distracted and put my focus on other things. This year I want that to change. Writing makes me happy, and I always seem to forget how much I enjoy it. I honestly don't know what I have to offer content-wise at this point, but I want to document more throughout this year so that I can look back on it and remember everything, both the good and the bad. My goal is to blog at least ONCE A WEEK. 2. Shape up! I've been terribly lazy this past year, and it hasn't just affected me physically. My migraines have come back, and it's been much easier to slip back into the negative thinking I worked so hard to quiet. I know it's not mentally healthy for me to work toward a specific number or size, I just need to get active! My goal is to exercise 2-3 times a week MINIMUM. 3. Upgrade to a domestic goddess! I purchased a planner for 2016 that I am so excited about! I have all kinds of fun stickers and such to make the planning part fun, but I also need to focus on the follow-through. I want to find a routine for cleaning, laundry and cooking. As of now I don't care much for any of those things, especially cooking. I don't know that I can change how I feel, but I can get myself into a routine of not avoiding them! I also want to take a few lessons in the art of meal planning. Grocery shopping is always such a last minute decision because on the days that I actually feel like cooking something, I don't have what I need to make the meal. If I can figure it out, it would be a great way to save money that I would much rather put toward those student loans! My goal is to create and follow a routine for cleaning and laundry so that it actually gets done! I will start the first grocery shopping trip of 2016 with a meal plan! 4. Devote Time! These past few years I've been terribly sporadic with setting aside time to invest in my relationship with God, and I really want to improve upon that. My goal is to CONSISTENTLY have quiet time with my Heavenly Father and spend more time in His word. Those are my main goals for the new year, and I'm really excited for everything that is to come!
