So it's already February. WHAT?! I can't wrap my head around that! I thought I'd share some of my favorite things from the month of January. Hopefully this list will give you a chance to get to know me a little better! I'm sure that most of my favorite things will stay the same, but I just want to highlight a few each month throughout the year that are most likely to change over time: Netflix, Movie, Meal, Book and Music. Netflix
George and I are currently watching two shows together on Netflix: Chuck and Parks and Recreation. I've already watched these shows in their entirety, but I love re-watching them with my husband! We decided that we would watch both at once because Chuck's episodes are around 45 mins, and Parks and Rec episodes are under a half hour. Depending on our plans for the day, we watch what we have time to enjoy! Movie George got me the movie Inside Out for Christmas, and we finally watched it this month. I'm a fan of pretty much anything Disney-Pixar, and this movie was no exception! As someone who has dealt with depression and anxiety and felt the battle of emotions within my own head, it was so cool to see the characters enact those inner struggles. I will definitely be watching this one again. And probably again... Meal We all know how much I love cooking... Tonight's cooking effort in particular was a time consuming, stress inducing, last minute picking up of missing ingredient from my parents' house, delicious MESS. It was me. I was the mess. But I did find a fairly easy to make meal that is absolutely delicious: Chicken Parmesan Baked Ziti! We've made it multiple times this month, doubling the recipe to have TONS of leftovers for lunches throughout the week. Book I've been doing a lot of reading this month (YAY!!!!!!!), and while I originally planned to share ONE book, I read an entire series that I absolutely LOVED! The Lunar Chronicles: Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, Winter. I didn't even know that this series existed, but George saw positive reviews online and bought me the first three for Christmas. Seriously, I am so excited about this story, but I will try to describe is as succinctly as possible... It's a futuristic Sci-fi take on classic fairytales, tying together the stories of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Snow White. With an evil queen of course. Music This month I've been listening to Rachel Platten's CD: Wildfire. SO GOOD. I would recommend the Target exclusive, because I LOVE the acoustic versions of Stand By You and Speechless as much, if not more than, the originals. That's all for the first edition of my monthly favorites posts! If you have any other categories you'd like to see in the future, send them my way!
